How CSI makes a difference around the world.

We provide free surgical services to children in need.

We build partnerships with local hospitals and conduct surgical mission trips to some of the poorest regions of the world. There we provide pediatric surgical and medical care to children who would not otherwise have access to such highly specialized services.

Our procedures include reconstructive surgery for cleft lips and palates, head and neck deformities, urological malformations and general pediatric surgery. CSI also supports an interventional cardiology initiative in Ethiopia that addresses their communities’ need for treatment of the effects of severe rheumatic heart disease.

We teach others to do the same.

We provide instruction and training to local surgeons and other medical providers such as doctors, anesthesiologists, nurses and technicians. Our educational mission is to provide local medical professionals with hands-on training in the operating room and at the patient bedside, with the goal to make the local surgical community self-sufficient in providing care.

We spread a message of hope.

We are a humanitarian organization dependent upon volunteerism and donations from individuals, foundations and corporations. Together with our host country partners, we are focused on one goal: improved access to safe and life-changing surgical and medical care for children in need. Our volunteers work to build self-sufficiency — bringing hope to children, families and communities around the world, one child at a time.
