Some people take vacations; our volunteers donate them.
CSI is a volunteer-driven organization. Our volunteers include anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, pediatricians, surgeons, nurses, medical records, biomedical personnel, community activists, business professionals, recruiters, designers, photographers, planners, organizers, coordinators and communications professionals.
Teams include licensed medical professionals who are experts in pediatric surgical, medical and nursing care. While we do not accept medical or nursing students on our missions as medical personnel, they are welcome to apply as non-medical volunteers. A limited number of non-medical volunteer opportunities is available on each trip. We have many volunteer opportunities stateside as well.
As we explore new team models in order to ensure a safe return to travel in fall 2021, our surgical trip volunteer opportunities will be limited. We encourage you to fill out an application as we are always excited to grow our team of volunteers. Read our FAQs for more details.
We accept medical volunteer applications for the following positions:
- Nursing: operating room, general pediatrics and advanced practice
- Anesthesia provider: anesthesiologist, certified nurse anesthetist (CRNA)
- Surgeon: pediatric surgeons in a wide variety of specialties View Application >
Many volunteer opportunities exist within CSI. In addition to participating as a non-medical volunteer team member, we are also looking for people who can help us prepare for trips, write grants, write and design newsletters and updates, plan and implement our annual Gala, and organize fundraising activities.
Whether participating on a CSI surgical mission trip is your ultimate goal or you prefer to support our work stateside, we hope you will consider lending your time and talents to support our work.
